WASHINGTON, DC – The International Republican Institute (IRI) issued the following statement on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the United States:
“President Zelensky’s historic visit to the White House and address to a joint meeting of Congress demonstrates why democratic allies must continue to stand together in the struggle against tyranny. Moscow’s criminal invasion of Ukraine and its deliberate targeting of innocent civilians and critical infrastructure show how the evils of authoritarianism transcend borders and remain a threat to free people everywhere. Ukrainians have displayed incredible courage and resolve in the face of unjust and incessant violence. The freedom-loving nations of the world must not relent in their support at this critical moment.
