Kenya Poll Examines Public’s Perception of County Government
In April 2019, the International Republican Institute (IRI) conducted eighteen ward-level polls across six counties to understand public sentiment on topics including county government performance, satisfaction with service delivery, perceptions of corruption and attitudes toward women in politics. The polling data provides local government officials, political parties and citizens insights into the priorities of Kenyans.

Methodology
IRI’s Center for Insights in Survey Research partnered with Infotrak Research and Consulting to conduct a poll of Kenyan adults, for which n=5,559 interviews were conducted across 18 wards in six counties.
Three wards were selected within each of the six counties, and approximately 300 interviews were assigned to each ward. The sampling points within the wards were determined randomly. The data was weighted to ensure representation across age groups and genders. The margin of error varied between plus or minus 4.9 percent and 5.6 percent depending on the ward with a confidence level of 95 percent. The response rate was 95 percent as well.
